Responsibilities
Platform Strategy
Define infrastructure architecture and engineering standards.
Establish scalable and secure cloud deployment practices.
Drive Infrastructure as Code adoption.
Improve deployment reliability and operational efficiency.
Build reusable platform components for engineering teams.
Cloud & Infrastructure
Own and manage infrastructure across:
AWS
Microsoft Azure
Google Cloud Platform
Hetzner
OVH
DigitalOcean
Other cloud providers as required
Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure for diverse client environments.
DevOps & Automation
Define CI/CD standards.
Improve deployment pipelines.
Drive Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
Establish release management practices.
Improve engineering productivity through automation.
Server & Platform Administration
Own administration of:
Ubuntu Servers
Bare Metal Infrastructure
Virtual Machines
Internal Development Servers
Production Environments
Build Servers
Internal Engineering Platforms
Database Governance
Establish standards for:
PostgreSQL
MySQL
MongoDB
Including:
Backup & Recovery
Replication
High Availability
Disaster Recovery
Capacity Planning
Performance Optimization
Monitoring & Alerting
Security Leadership
Define and periodically review:
Infrastructure security standards
IAM policies
Access control
Secret management
Patch management
SSH hardening
Vulnerability assessments
Disaster recovery strategy
Backup policies
Incident response procedures
Ensure infrastructure complies with industry best practices and organizational security requirements.
Monitoring & Observability
Build organization-wide observability using tools such as:
Prometheus
Grafana
Centralized logging platforms
Alerting systems
Establish KPIs for platform reliability, uptime, incident response, and capacity planning.
Process Ownership
Drive continuous improvements by:
Defining DevOps processes and SOPs.
Standardizing deployment practices.
Improving documentation.
Conducting infrastructure reviews.
Establishing operational checklists.
Reducing manual work through automation.
Implementing preventive maintenance and operational excellence initiatives.
Engineering Leadership
Mentor and guide Platform / DevOps Engineers.
Conduct technical reviews and architecture discussions.
Support project teams during planning and implementation.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with engineering leadership on infrastructure decisions.
AI-Driven Platform Engineering (Mandatory)
Champion the use of AI across infrastructure engineering.
Drive adoption of AI tools for:
Infrastructure automation
Troubleshooting
Incident analysis
Documentation
Capacity planning
Knowledge management
Operational intelligence
Reporting & Governance
Prepare structured reports for leadership.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
