Introduction

Noise pollution is a very serious yet under-addressed issue that can have detrimental effects all across the world. We helped our client, a visionary in creating an app that aims to build a community of people who are dedicated to fighting noise pollution. The application measures the noise level of a room in decibels , determines the noise level, and includes in one of the 6 categories it has depending on the noise decibel range. Further, it includes the data in a noise pollution heat map which can be viewed by all users. Thus help building awareness around the issue and also help protect people’s health by helping them avoid extremely loud and noisy places.

Key Features

Measure Noise Levels

The app measures the background noise around the user and determines which of the 6 noise level categories it falls into. The categories range from very quiet, quiet, normal, moderate, to loud and very loud based on the decibels of noise. The app also warns users if they are being exposed to harmful levels of noise and advises them to use ear protection.

Referrals & Rewards

Users can only sign up for the app using a referral code given by other users. Every user earns in-app coins which are redeemable at the in-app store for discount vouchers or item purchases. Users earn coins every time they measure their surrounding noise. Moreover, users also earn a part of every coin or reward earned by the users they have referred.

Noise Pollution Map View

Users can view the amount of noise pollution all over the globe on a map view. The app collects and consolidates noise data of every user across each location to determine a location’s noise pollution level. After which, the map displays noise pollution data in the form of colored tags which indicate the severity of noise levels at a given location.

Global Online Community

The app has a community platform for people dedicated to fighting against noise pollution. Users can add each other as friends and can interact with each other directly or globally in the apps chat forum. Moreover, the app is also connected to discord to help build a robust community around the topic.
